Spring has (sort of) finally sprung in New England and spring in New England can mean anything. One day pouring rain and cold, the next, 95 and sunny. Which was the case during Ali's latest visit home. With lots of promises of popsicles after and that she would be my most favorite sister, she was a gracious and beautiful model once again, only this time braving the heat rather than the chilly snow! And, we had some fun in the garden together photographing two gowns from Le Jardin.
The latest edition to the Le Jardin collection, the Belle Gown, mixed perfectly with the garden as flowers have started to grow. The pale purple skirt created with mixed layers of purple and ivory tulle, seemed almost fairy like in the light. The embroidered lace and pleated strap details bring in some traditional elements and the beading at the waist provides touches of sparkle. Delicate details are an important piece of Le Jardin. Texture plays a big part in the collection with tiny trims that create interest from near and far, such as the trim that edges the neckline of the Belle Gown. The floral print layered underneath the lace adds to the unique aspects of the dress and this print appears throughout the collection, making the Lilah Gown and Belle Gown the perfect pair to photograph.
Ali was also a marvelous model for the Lilah Gown, an original from Le Jardin. The silhouette looked wonderful on her and creates a traditional look with just the right amount of unique details. The mixed textures of the pleats, lace, and delicate beading create a very bridal feel, while the brightly colored flowers underneath give a whisper of surprise and romance.
This little photo shoot was very fun to arrange, as I was able to use more of our garden. All of the greenery and iron furniture provided the perfect setting for the gowns. It added to the vintage feel of the dresses and the laid-back, yet romantic, mood of Le Jardin. I always enjoy doing these little photo shoots. It gives me the chance to create an entire look for my designs, from the hair to the accessories and the setting. Like I mentioned in my other photo shoot post, Snowy Day, I have an interest in photography, so it always exciting to put all of my creative interests to work in one project.
Even Bewley, our rock climbing and camera loving Irish Wheaten Terrier had to get in on the photo shoot. He definitely made an adorable accessory!
