A first impression is always important in any field, or even any setting for that matter. Think the Devil Wears Prada and Andy's "grandmother's skirt" or Pride and Prejudice and Darcy turning up his nose at Lizzie (fun fact: Jane Austen originally intended the famous novel to be called First Impressions). Recently, I have had a lot of new experiences popping up and instances where I am wanting to put my best dressed foot forward.
This gave me the chance to really focus on my aesthetic and "brand" so to speak to reflect everything that I am about in a few images for some new business cards. I also got some new postcards and the most adorable little stickers I have ever seen. I will absolutely be sticking them everything in sight because seeing my sketches in such a tiny form is just so precious! (A big shout to Moo for their printing, options and super easy process! The business cards come in such a nice box, adding to an awesome and professional presentation with places to store other cards you might collect and the postcards came in the cutest case that is perfectly playful. I highly recommend Moo if you ever need any business cards yourself.) I couldn't have had more fun creating everything! Having such a nice new presentation tool, overall and for anyone, will help make you feel more confident and much more established with anything that may come way your way, whether it be a job interview or simply just giving a card to a friend.
Now focusing on what exactly I wanted my cards to say about myself was a little tricky, as I wanted them to reflect my style and portfolio at a glance. With that in mind, I stuck with a clean white background, my classic gray type and a few of my favorite designs and illustrations. Like my own personal style and aesthetic, I also wanted my cards to withstand the test of time. It was important to me that everything was cohesive with my website and other portfolio samples I have created to establish a clean, elegant, yet still fun presentation that was the perfect summary of me! I was so happy with the results, I couldn't help but share!
Happy branding and thanks for reading!
