It is so hard to believe that the holidays are already upon us! While I miss the summertime weather and running out the door in an easy shift dress, I do love the holiday season. Especially Thanksgiving!
For my family, Thanksgiving always means traveling. While this year we did not get the entire Griffin clan together, we did go up to Vermont, to spend the holiday with my sister. Of course, I could not resist using the sweeping landscape as a background for a quick photo shoot. Featuring the burgundy overcoat from a collection inspired by the magic of reading and adventures, I styled the piece with warm winter pieces and a fun printed dress to show off the shape.
It was freezing cold and a bit windy, but with the help of my Dad (having a creative family sure comes in handy!) we got some great shots and had some real fun.
The coat fit perfectly into the landscape and the setting really embodied the inspiration of the collection. It emphasized the magical sense of wonder the collection was trying to convey. The color, drawing from colors found on old books, popped against the lake water and the silhouette of the coat really was shown off in the lake wind. Featuring top stitching and a play on princess lines, the coat combines tradition with a twist, which I always aspire to do!
Thanks for reading and enjoy your holidays!
